2018 Durango Gets SRT Treatment, 475 Horsepower HEMI V8

Dodge has brought another one of its models into the muscled, rubber-burning fold of the SRT family.

Welcome, Durango. We hope you enjoy your stay at the horsepower hotel.

The 2018 Durango SRT gets a major upgrade over standard models: a seething, monstrous 6.4 liter Hemi V8 cranking out 475 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque.

Consider your rubber sufficiently burnt.

The new powerhouse pulls the three-row family SUV to 60 mph in 4.4 seconds and runs past the quarter mile in 12.9 seconds. A new tune to the Durango's eight-speed automatic transmission helps handle more speed and improves responsiveness.

Brembo brakes, Pirelli tires, and a stiffer suspension set up improve cornering as well.

Visually, the Durango SRT takes most of the standard styling cues of the Dodge SRT family -- bulging fenders, aggressive hood scoop, black rims and the like. It has both the bark and the bite.

The Durango SRT hits dealer lots this fall, but you can still check out our new Durango inventory in Littleton, CO. The Brandon Dodge sales team is at your disposal.
